Sunshine Color Here

Sunny yellow detail from April Cornell’s new print. Also available in her popular waffle weave dish towels

There’s no priority to our hunt for spring color higher than the warming rays of yellow in February!

For those of you who don’t think you’ll be able to add the color yellow to your decor, consider this bright  print by April Cornell (with a twist) — a traditional rose print, ala copper-engraving-style, surrounded by a white border and a black and gray subtle plaid.  Very sophisticated yet very simple, too.

This is just one part of our new spring collections that are chosen to take the coldness out of our exceptionally bad winter and put some sunshine into your soul again!

Along with yellow and the soft jade and mint greens we introduced last week, we are assembling our spring ribbon inventory, unpacking a few bunnies (!) and rearranging the gift shop to welcome you with a fresh face for the coming season.

This new, rich hand cream from France comes from Pre de Provence in this Eucalyptus and Mint fragrance.  Guaranteed to lift your winter spirits and smooth that dry skin, it is the companion to their popular soap of the same fragrance.

Another new soap from France includes the happy yellow Freesia and back in stock are the fragrant spring Peony and classic White Gardenia.  Each of these comes tied with a beautiful ribbon, just like a little package, and makes the perfect hostess gift as we resume our end of winter social life!

Stop in and see us.  It’s warm and sunny inside!  Open Tuesday – Sunday 11-5

Seasonal Re-Group

Pleasing jade green and yellow create a fresh face as we approach Spring.

Every day now we are unpacking boxes of new goods as we get closer to Spring!

Our first shipments included these happy green and yellow kitchen linens by NOW Designs and a cute ‘meadowlark” motif seen here in a handy relish dish (or use as a bathroom trinket tray), a handsome embossed mug as well as a towel set of flour-sack weight cotton.  A triple set of crocheted dishclothes is new and will provide hardworking scrubbing for years ahead – they’re just like your grandmother used to make you (but better colors!).

After all that good cleanin’, try our new Private Collection soap and hand cream from Pre de Provence.  From France, these high quality products have the new fragrance Eucalyptus Mint!  This will lift your sinuses out of winter – it’s amazingly pleasant.

Stop in soon and get a lift from winter!  Whether it’s dreary rain or that single day of sunshine, we’re here with a bright and cozy shop.

Open Tuesday-Sunday 11-5.  Open Presidents Day, February 20th 11-5

Brighten Your Days Here!

“So Stinkin’ Cute” is the apt name by Bunnies by the Bay for this “wittle” doggie. Cuddly, soft and baby safe – but not just for babies! $10.95

Get the lead out and enjoy these winter days!

Aurora’s shops are cozy and filled with interesting items that will absorb countless hours to relax and prompt your feet to just guide you around.  Rather than sitting indoors (letting your skin dry out) you might instead get a small amount of exercise here!  (At least enough to justify a cheeseburger at the Colony Pub or a cinnamon roll at the White Rabbit bakery! Mmmm)

Our shop is filled with the delightful colors, scents and creative pieces of the coming Valentine season.  If that’s a holiday you skip, just treat yourself this year — we’ve all earned it!

The warm and bright colors of reds and pinks along with our new spring greens (our new jade green wares look good enough to eat!) will lift your winter spirits.  And our tea counters are filled with that perfect tea to warm you on these cold days and evenings.

Get your Punch Studio Valentine cards before they’re sold out. This is just HALF our selection. These cards are never thrown out! $2.25-$3.50 (no extra postage either)

Stop in this week and get in our FINAL WEEK OF OUR JANUARY WHITE SALE.  ($7-10 off all April Cornell tablecloths!)

We’re Seeing Red!”

Crisp REDS with White make a fresh start to the new year.

We know after the glaring white of (how many days?) of snow that we’re in for OUR TYPICAL WINTER OF DREARY RAIN.  So, in with the warming reds and pinks!

Our gift shop is a Valentine mecca for you with cheerful linens, bright red teapots, timely tabletop decor and loads of Valentine ideas!

What to do on a rainy day?  Pick up some of our Anna Griffin paper scraps and stickers, cut off a few feet of our great ribbon collection,  pull out your old broken jewelry bits and paper doilies, and create some of your own Valentine creations!  It’s fun, easy, pull out the tv tray and you can watch a romantic movie at the same time.

Anna Griffin paper scraps and stickers are great fun and so easy. Make your own Valentine cards and decorations in no time!

Karen created about 20 of these paper Valentine ‘ornaments’ in about 2 hours while also watching a movie! Just a glue stick and some ribbon plus Anna Griffin’s scraps and stickers.

Come in this weekend to pick up what you need to get started. Have some friends over and have them bring their bits n pieces, make some tea and have a Winter Blast!
Open Tuesday – Sunday 11-5.
